In 1976, Enos Swartzentruber started in the flooring business by selling flooring out of the trunk of his car and installing it.  He quickly became busy, and found the need for a retail store and showroom.

In 1987, Enos bought the building that we are still working out of today, and began filling it with flooring samples so customers would have a showroom to pick out their new flooring. Also, having a showroom would open the door for Enos to be able to buy directly from manufacturers. Enos wanted to grow his business into other areas than just flooring, which led him to his building remodel in 1989.

In 1989, Enos took on a large remodel of his showroom, adding a third story and also adding to the original building.  The third floor was added with the hopes of using it to sell furniture.  About a year and a half later, Enos started to fill the third floor with furniture.  Along with furniture came many other products; decorations, paint, wall paper, counter tops, area rugs, blinds, lighting, and much more.

Around 1991, Enos also built a second building, directly behind the showroom, with the intent of stocking flooring products to sell to home owners wanting to do the work themselves.  This idea worked great for a little while until the big box stores moved in to Wooster.  From there, Enos moved the purpose of that building from do it yourself to using it to stock products for Lincoln Interiors to install, which would give customers a quicker turn around time on their projects.

In the mid 90's Enos bought out a store in Millersburg, which also sold and installed flooring.  He operated out of both building for many years, Millersburg primarily just being a showroom, and all the materials were still stocked out of the Wooster locations.  After a while, he decided that it just wasn't worth the hassle of operating out of two buildings and closed the Millersburg store.

He continued operating out of the Wooster store for many more years, always thinking of new ideas and ways to grow and give the customer the best experience in the area.

In 2011,  Enos retired from the flooring business with a very good name in the area for quality work, quality products, and one of the best selections around.

The business was closed for several years when Denny and Diana Frazier bought the building from Enos in 2014.  The Frazier's also have another business, Dutch Country Stone, which is a veneer stone masonry company that they started and has been in business since.  A lot like Lincoln Interiors, Dutch Country Stone has a very good name in Wayne County and surrounding counties for our quality of workmanship.  Denny Frazier has been in the construction industry since 1976,  having several different careers in a wide variety of home construction trades, including working as a field superintendent for a home builder.

Enos came back to work for a couple years to help us get the company operating again, and to pass on his knowledge of the flooring industry.  Over the first couple years, we worked closely with Enos, to make sure we were continuing where he left off, and to be sure we deliver the same great service and quality that he was so well known for.  Still today, Enos will stop by the showroom to see how things are going and is always willing to take a phone call.

Lincoln Way Interiors is currently focused on the flooring side of the business.  In the future we hope to get back into a lot of the products Enos used to sell, including furniture, drapes, counter tops, along with expanding into new areas that Enos never got in to.
